John Beckett is Chief Legal Officer at Caldic Group, a global chemicals and ingredients distributor headquartered in the Netherlands. He leads Caldic's global Legal and Compliance function, advising the executive team and board on governance, regulatory risk, complex cross-border matters and strategic decision-making in a highly regulated environment.

John has extensive experience supporting international businesses operating across overlapping and sometimes conflicting regulatory regimes. His work focuses in particular on how general counsel and executive teams make, govern and document judgement-based decisions where legal expectations collide, ensuring outcomes are principled, well-evidenced and defensible over time.

Before joining Caldic, John held senior legal roles in multinational organisations spanning Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific. He regularly engages with boards, regulators and shareholders, and is a frequent speaker on the evolving role of the general counsel, governance under uncertainty, and practical approaches to compliance and risk management.
