David Mindell is the VP of Global Compliance and Associate General Counsel for Yum! Brands. He began his current role in April 2021, but has been with Yum! since April 2014. He originally joined Yum! to focus on building the company’s anti-corruption compliance program, but quickly added other compliance areas to his portfolio of responsibilities. In his current role, David is responsible for all areas of Yum!’s global compliance program including compliance training, internal investigations, third party compliance due diligence and sanctions compliance. David also leads the data privacy compliance team. Prior to joining Yum!, David spent almost six years as an associate in the Government Enforcement Practice Group at Ropes & Gray in New York. His practice focused on general regulatory compliance and white collar investigations with a particular focus on anti-corruption compliance. Additionally, David had a small practice representing college athletes, coaches and programs in connection with NCAA investigations and appeals. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, David was a bat boy for the Toronto Blue Jays while attaining his BA in Political Science at the University of Toronto. He also holds a JD from Columbia University Law School.
