WORKSHOP & SITE TOUR DAY

Monday, April 29th, 2019

10:30 AM The Science & Wisdom of Biophilic Patterns

Why is it that we are fascinated by the random patterns in a crackling fire or a meandering stream?  How does access to natural light and thermal comfort affect our moods and our attention?  If we harnessed our knowledge of how are brains are wired, to pay attention to aspects in nature and be influenced by our perceptions of the environment, we can design environments that leverage this knowledge for a higher level of engagement.  Learn about the strategy and science that is being studied to enhance the creative working environment.  High performance environments will be increasingly important as the valued creativity of human innovation is aligned with the benefits of machine learning.
Using design thinking skills and materials learned in this session, participants will apply their learnings to a proposed design and discuss outcomes. This is an interactive discussion where we hope to explore together, the link between spaces and the advancement of  human performance
