Future ports demand efficiency, cost savings and productivity along with securing sustainable growth, safer workplace and minimising environmental footprint. The OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) predicts that global container handling in ports could rise up to four times the current levels by 2030 and five to six times by 2050. This demand means that the next generation of ports must be planned in a responsible way.
