In 1997 Jonathan joined the British Army, laterf commissioning as an officer and serving in Iraq, Northern Ireland, and Bosnia. In 2007, he joined the Metropolitan Police Service in London, qualifying as a detective and going on to manage various CID teams.

In 2016, Jonathan accepted a role on Uber’s security team and now leads the company’s global public safety operations team. The team provides continuous, year-round, triage and emergency response services across 74 countries, operating from hubs in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and EMEA. A new central operations team in Taiwan also supports these efforts, focusing on fraud and theft response. Uber facilitates over 28 million trips per day, serving 150 million active monthly users and is a fast growth business. This growth has been accompanied by a rapid increase in LE data requests and Jonathan’s team has had to scale consistently to meet demand and ensure platform safety.
