Conference Day Two - 24th March 2027

4:30 PM Closing Panel Debate – One Platform Compliance Model: Ambition or Fantasy?

Platform regulation is outgrowing the structures created to manage it, leaving Legal, Compliance and Trust & Safety with overlapping mandates but no settled model for working together. This debate asks what the next generation of platform governance should look like and whether integration, independence or a federated model offers the strongest path forward. It will examine how platforms can build clear accountability and regulatory discipline without losing Trust & Safety's ability to anticipate emerging harms and act ahead of the law.

• Defining future ownership across Legal, Compliance, Trust & Safety and Product.
• Designing accountability from legal interpretation through monitoring and assurance.
• Preserving proactive harm prevention beyond minimum compliance obligations.
