Oscar Castillo brings two decades of expertise in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and digital transformation at Northrop Grumman. A graduate of Florida State University with both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, his career has spanned product design, manufacturing engineering, product management, and production system modernization.
In recent years, Oscar has led initiatives that delivered measurable impact to the production floor, including enterprise-scale digital signage integrated with IIoT environmental sensors, “See What I See” remote collaboration tools, connected digital work instructions linking PLM and MES content directly to the shop floor with 3D visual guidance, and augmented reality work instructions. He also managed Northrop Grumman’s Fablab makerspace, where he provided resources for fabrication through training, equipment, and materials; challenged the community to grow with panel discussions, hackathons, and a weekly newsletter; and extended impact beyond the company through educational outreach and partnerships with Los Angeles-area nonprofits. Passionate about applying practical digital solutions that empower the workforce and improve manufacturing outcomes, Oscar focuses on bridging strategy with execution to ensure transformation efforts are both scalable and sustainable.
