Alexander Simpson is a strategic General Counsel with over 20 years’ experience in the law. In August 2023 Alex was appointed General Counsel for the B&M Group, responsible for all Legal, Compliance, Company Secretarial and HR operations in the UK, France and Luxembourg. Prior to joining B&M, Alex was General Counsel and Legal Director for Amazon UK, and served as a director and board member of more than 20 other Amazon UK group companies. Prior to joining Amazon, Alex was General Counsel and Company Secretary at ASDA and also Chaired the Asda Foundation, focusing on major charitable projects and corporate philanthropy across the UK. Since 2018 Alex has served as the Senior Independent Director and NED at the Royal Chartered Institute of Directors. Alex attended Queen’s University Belfast and Trinity College Dublin before completing his legal training at the College of Law.
