Daniel Herzig-Sommer
VP, Technical Services, Digital Science & Research Solutions metaphacts GmbHDaniel Herzig-Sommer became VP Technical Services in September 2025. He now leads Digital Science's global technical services team, tasked with ensuring the successful, on-time delivery of complex technical solutions and integrations for DS products and clients. Prior to this role, he was Chief Operating Officer at metaphacts (a Digital Science portfolio company) since 2017, overseeing customer projects in the pharma, engineering, and financial sectors. Daniel brings over 15 years of experience in semantic and search technologies. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), having also studied Business and Engineering at KIT, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Stanford University.
